Four Blind Mice is a compelling entry in the Alex Cross saga that has the benefit of drawing readers deeper into Alex’s personal life in an organic fashion. Also, it’s about time we get more of John Sampson! The thrills of the case are balanced by a health scare from Nana Mama (but don’t worry…Patterson wouldn’t kill off a beloved grandmother, would he?). Patterson continues to be abysmal at writing romantic relationships but fortunately the main plot is thrilling enough to overlook any of the book’s flaws. Four Blind Mice is classic James Patterson.
